Ronald G. Ramsey, 71, went to be with the Lord on March 6, 2006. Preceded in death by his parents Sewell and Nona Ramsey; 2 brothers; 1 stepson; and 1 grandchild. Survivors include his loving wife Joyce of 38 years; son Bruce Ramsey; daughter Sheila Focks; stepdaughters Karen Fletcher, Iris Truman, and Tara Gray; stepsons Bruce and David Palmer; sisters Lucille Frame, Carol Truman, Ruth Yarger, Greta Triplett, Rosalea Harker, and Sandra Sigman; 16 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was loved by his many friends and church family. Calling hours will be Wednesday, 5-8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral service Thursday, 11 a.m. at Lakeview Lighthouse Church, 1065 Kubler Trail, Akron, Pastor Dwayne Ray officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to defray funeral costs.
