Rose Violet Baughman, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 24, 2020. She was born on November 26, 1931 to Theresa and Joseph Sabistina, in Ellsworth, Pennsylvania.
She was married to Frank Baughman on September 17, 1949 and had six children. Rose worked as an aide at Manor Care Nursing Home, where she retired after 25 years. She loved to bake and spend time with her grandkids. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas Eve, when all of her children and grandchildren would gather at her house, so it was not a surprise that she would pass on that day.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Frank in 2008, and by daughter Diane in 2001.
Rose is survived by her children Dennis Baughman, Deborah (Frank) Wagel, Darlene Baughman, Dorie (John) Zaccardelli, David (Kay) Baughman; 22 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Joanne Wimberly and Shirley Skubenics, and brother Junior Sabistina.
Rose's family would like to thank Western Reserve Hospice Care for all their support. A special thanks to her nurse Tammy Phillips, who was so caring and helpful. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Western Reserve Hospice in Medina, OH.
Cremation has taken place, and her family will have a private ceremony at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where Rose will be laid to rest with her husband, Frank. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 30, at 11:30 a.m. at River of Life Community Church, 5649 Stow Rd. Hudson, OH 44236. Due to Covid, immediate family only. For everyone's safety, masks will be mandatory. To leave a message for Rose's family, please scroll below.
