Rose Marie Schartiger
Rose Marie passed away on January 5, 2013. She was 85 years old. Like each of her children she held in her arms, she is now back in the arms of her loving mother once again.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Andrew Koolish; two brothers and four sisters; son, James Cook, and granddaughter, Lindsay.
Rose Marie was the proud mother of five daughters, Phyllis, Nancy, Shirley, Dorothy, and Cheryl; two sons-in-law, Don and Paul; grandchildren,Jennifer, Nikki, and Brandon; great-granddaughter, Chloe. She will be dearly missed by her family and dear friend Ruby.
Rose Marie retired from Akron Summa Hospital in 1991 and spent her retirement years doing what she loved most – playing cards, trips to California, and her two passions, bingo and jigsaw puzzles. Rose Marie was known to be a very giving person who never wanted to see anyone go hungry and instilled this in her children. She was known to most for her sense of humor, but not everyone knew of her artistic talent.
We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Akron Summa Hospital and a special thank you to Drs. Samir Makati and Ted Shaub for their years of special care.
Services will be private. Rose Marie's ashes will be taken to California to be spread at her favorite site overlooking Ventura.
We love you so much Momma and you will live in our hearts forever. Thank you for being our mother.
