Rose Marie Sawyers

Rose Marie Sawyers, 95, of Tallmadge, passed away on February 3, 2023. She was born in Akron on December 24, 1927 to the late Thomas and Mary Cardoni. She met the love of her life, George Herman Sawyers when they worked together at San Hygene Co. in Akron. They married on July 1, 1950 and have remained happy and in love for over 72 years.
In her free time, Rose enjoyed watching classic black and white movies and musicals. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Victory Church.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jennifer; siblings, Philip Cardoni, Louis Cardoni, John Cardoni, Joseph Cardoni, Carolina Brumbaugh, Carmela Cagnoli, Ange Sabbagh, and Thomas Cardoni.
She is survived by her loving husband, George Sawyers; daughter, Tonya (Jay); grandson, Keith; sister, Elsie Gelvin; sister-in-law, Carol Cardoni; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 5-7 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Tallmadge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
