Rose E. Ward

ROSE EVELYN WARD was born on January 12, 1943 in Guthrie Kentucky; to the late George Reliford and Sarah C. Moran Johnson. Rose departed this life on July 5, 2024 in Akron, Ohio.
Rose attended Orrville High School in Orrville, Ohio. She got her LPN license shortly after graduating from High School. Rose attended College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, California. She became a Registered Nurse and was employed at various health organizations last working at The Cleveland Clinic before retirement.
Rose accept and confessed Christ as her personal Saviour under Pastor Upshaw at First Baptist Church in Orrville, OH. First Baptist Church was instrumental in guiding her through her Christian walk.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Steve F. Ward, Jr. To this union three daughters were born, Tonya, Kim, and Tiffany.

Rose was preceded in death by her grandparents, Pleman Moran and Rose Northington; parents, George Reliford and Sarah C. Moran Johnson; brother, Jefferson Johnson; son-in-law, Shedrick Lilliard, Sr.

Rose leaves to cherish her memory; children, Tonya Ward, Kim Lilliard, and Tiffany (Kenneth) Carey; siblings, Myrtle Jean Jeffery, Larry Johnson, and Darrell (Opal) Johnson; seven grandchildren, Michael, Britany, Shanelle, Brandon, Jonathan, Jade, and Shedrick Jr; 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 15th, from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 12:00pm.
