Roy L. Parker, age 91, of Akron, Ohio passed away on Monday, September 23, 2013. He was born on August 25, 1922 in Sales City, GA to the late Thornton and Ethel Parker. Roy served his country during WWII in the US Army, retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber after 33 years and served as a lifetime member and Deacon at Akron Apostolic Temple. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Isabel Parker.

Roy is survived by his daughter Rosalyn M. Parker, special 'baby' Savannah Franklin, brother Bishop David (Ada) Parker, sister-in-laws Ruth Carswell and Mother Mary Parker, godchildren Katherine Johnson, Norman (Paulette) Carswell, The Franklin Girls, special nephew Rev. David T. (V. Lynette) Parker, special niece Cheryl Hawthorne, a host of nieces, nephews and relatives. Thank you to all the staff at CYO Adult Day Care.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Akron Apostolic Temple, 599 Noble Ave, Akron, OH 44320. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. A graveside service will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 11:00 am.
