Roy W. Mitchell Jr.

Roy W. Mitchell Jr., 67, passed away on March 6, 2022. He was born on June 25, 1954 the son of the late Roy Mitchell Sr and Wilma Mitchell. Roy graduated in 1972 from Manchester High School. He began his career in the family business, Mitchell Communications, as a Communications Engineer. Roy was a man of faith, enjoyed fishing and using his Ham Radio. His passion and love was being at the Akron BMX Track and he was proud of being a past President. His biggest passion, enjoyment and love was spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and beloved wife Leesa Mitchell.
Roy is survived by his sons Roy W. (Tiffany) Mitchell III, Tony (Helga) Mitchell, Andy (Melissa) Mitchell, and Ryan (Alycia) Klein; grandchildren Allysa (Chris), Breanna, Brittany, Roy IV, Emily, Katy, Olivia, Faith, Jason, Nevaeh, Lilly, Dominic, and Brantley; great-grandson Aiden; siblings Rhonda (Tony), Kathy (Bob), Lauren (Gary), and Jeff (Gwen); and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday (March 16) from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where memorial services will be held at 6:00PM with Pastor Gary Smith officiating.
