Roy W. Drumm, 73, resident of Cuyahoga Falls since the mid 1950's, passed away at his home of 57 years on Friday, DEC. 28. He was born in Akron and retired from Parker Hannifin as a tool crib attendant with 37 years service.
Roy was an avid history & local history book reader & collector of maps, local bottles, almanacs & books (so much that he had a library [factual books only] built on the back of his home.) ROY was deeply involved in family history [genealogy] where he has traced parts of the family 49 generations to the year 580. Roy liked rock & roll [dad liked 55-64] and has 7000 songs in order top 100 each week from 1950-92. He was one of the few people that actually hitch hiked the entire route 66 in 1958 with his friend, Art Thomas. After that trip, Roy & Art drove the scenic hwy 1 in CA Monterrey to Morro bay APR. 1960. Roy and again Art went through Yellowstone Nat. Park enjoying that adventure feeding the local wildlife through the slightly rolled down window until the bread ran out `grizzly bear was still hungry.'
In 1983, dad received a second wind and traveled every mile of every bike path in northeast Ohio with Wayne Swickley. Roy is survived by wife of 46 years, Susan; Daughter; Tammy Mulhollen; son, John Drumm of Cuyahoga falls; grandchildren, Jeff Drumm, Robert [Brianna] Mulhollen, Jessica Mulhollen & great granddaughter, Isabella Mulhollen.
