Ruby Childs Helle
Ruby Childs Helle passed away from this life peacefully on January 30, 2009 with her family by her side singing hymns to her. She was born in Grantsville, Pennsylvania. Ruby came to Akron as a small child and lived there most of her life. She worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. and retired after 25 years, making gas masks during World War II and later working in Shipping and Time Keeping. She was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, William W. Childs and later in life, Robert Helle. She is survived by her children, Jesse H. Childs (Sally) andPeggy Tobias (Galen); five grandchildren, Janet Coverdale, Joy Croston, Paul Tobias, James Childs, and Kim Lopez; eight great grandchildren, Ben Croston, Melissa Bomberger, Daniel Tobias, Bryan Tobias, Alex Tobias, Jessica Lopez, Alandra Lopez, and Benita Lopez. A memorial service will be held Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel of Prayer, 1811 Brittain Rd., with Rev. Sherman Bailey officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Altercare of Hartville, 1420 Smith Cramer Rd., Hartville, OH 44685.
