Ruby A. Harris

Ruby A. Harris, age 92, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on January 4, 2019.
She was born on June 1, 1926 in Sistersville, West Virginia. Ruby lived most of her adult life in the Akron area.
Mrs. Harris worked for the Akron Public Schools as a librarian for 30 years.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Alta Morris; her step-mother (who raised her), Lucy Morris; and six of her siblings, Howard, Mary, Betty, Thomas, Lige, and Hugh.
She is survived by her two sons, Thurl Harris, Jr. and Bob (Dianna) Harris; granddaughters, Tina (Ron) and Toni (Shane); four great-grandchildren, Kadence, Addison, Caridee, and Colton; her siblings, Shelby, Eileen (Ronald), and Kent; many nieces and nephews, with special mention of Sandy, Becky, and Linda.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Jamie and Shavonne of Summa Hospice for their care of Ruby and support to the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Summa Hospice, 1077 Gorge Blvd., Akron, Ohio 44310 in Ruby's memory.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron on Friday, January 11, 2019 where family and friends may visit from 12:00-1:00 PM.
Family and friends may also visit at the funeral home on Thursday evening, January 10, 2019 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
Burial will take place at Hillside Memorial Park, Akron.
