Russell Edward Duffield Sr., "Russ", age 80, of Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2022.
He was born in Akron on December 20, 1941, the son of the late William and Elvie (nee Stauffer) Duffield Sr.
In his early days, Russ loved to fish, golf and bowl. His life-long passion was gambling, whether it was the lottery or slots at the casinos. He was a fun loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Russ loved to entertain and was the life of the party. He also liked to travel.
Russ was owner/operator of Bee Gee Building Supplies in Macedonia/Parma for over 35 years, plus other business ventures, retiring in 2005.
Survivors include his loving wife the former, Joyce Mullinax, whom he married on September 17, 1960; his children, Russell E. Duffield Jr., Kenneth E. Duffield and Patricia (Mark) Johnson; his grandchildren, Mark Ryan (Brooke Brown) Johnson, Brandon T. (Brooke) Johnson, Samantha E. "Sami" (Michael) Flora and Kendall N. Duffield; and his great-grandchildren, Memphis, Parker and Emmett.
Other than his parents, Russ was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Davies, Richard Duffield and William "Bid or Duff" Duffield Jr.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00- 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org
