Russell E. Peters, Jr.

Russell E. Peters, Jr., passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Altercare of Cuyahoga Falls.

He was born on August 7, 1925 in Akron, OH to Russell E. Peters, Sr. and Catherine (Hunter) Peters. He served in World War II as a Navy Corpsman, was an avid Ohio sports fan, and a retired Teamster.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather. Most of all, Russ enjoyed the company of his family and friends.

Russ is survived by his wife, Margaret (Delaney); sons, Gary (Beth), Duane (Laurie), Daniel (Jacqueline); daughters, Sharon Martino, Karen (Leonard) Vance, Deborah Perry; brother, Robert (Ruth) Peters; 21 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, September 4, from 4 PM to 6 PM at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association.
