Russell B. Fazenbaker, 87, of Kent passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on July 6, 2018. Bruce was born on May 16, 1931 in Akron, Ohio. He served in the US Air Force, where he was stationed at Harmon Air Force Base in Newfoundland. It was there that he met the love of his life, Fran. Following his service, Bruce worked as a machinist at Goodyear Aerospace and Vaughn Machine Company. He later worked for Monsanto which he retired from in 1991. Bruce was a hardworking man who enjoyed farming, tractors, hunting, and wood working. He loved playing and coaching baseball and softball and was a die hard Indians fan. He was a member at Our Lady of Victory for 16 years. Bruce was a devoted and loving husband, father, and papa who loved spending time with his family.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Adeline Fazenbaker; sisters, Sandra Fitzgerald and Annie Fazenbaker; granddaughter, Rachael Adeline Fazenbaker; and great-granddaughter, Hannah Boarman.
Bruce will be deeply missed by his wife of 66 years, Frannie Fazenbaker; children, Allen (Deborah) Fazenbaker, Becky Fazenbaker, Rusty (Theresa) Fazenbaker, Janie (Dawn Distler) Fazenbaker, Terry (Pam) Fazenbaker, and Margie (Shane) Skinner; sister, Susan Tisen; grandchildren, Paula, Amy, Mary Kay, Sarah, Laura, Donnie, Beth, Joey, Maria, Rusty, Becca, Nicole, Tami, Maryellen, Ashley, Shana, Alicia, David, Brittani, and Caden; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Friends and family are welcome to Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd., to visit on Thursday July 12, 2018 from 5pm to 8pm. A memorial mass will take place at Our Lady of Victory on Friday July 13, 2018 at 10am. Inurnment will take place at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
