Russell Lee Frye

Russell Lee Frye, 70, passed away peacefully at home on August 12, 2024. Born in Akron, Ohio to Leonard and Edna (Swiger) Frye, he resided in the Akron area most of his life. Russ was a skilled tire mold hand finisher who enjoyed his work and retired from Caliber Mold. He was a philosopher, meaning lover of wisdom. Russ enjoyed motorcycles, buying and selling Corvettes, playing the slots and scratch offs, taking care of his lawn, cooking and spending time with his family and friends. 

In addition to his parents, Russ was preceded in death by his brother, Les Frye. He will be sadly missed by his partner of 16 years, Sharon Sharp; children, Leon, Nick, Eric, Jessica; grandchildren; siblings, Blane Frye, Paul Frye, Barbara (Bob) Houchen; many nieces and nephews.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Russ will be buried at Hillside Memorial Park with his late parents. The family will have a celebration of his life at a later date. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Russ's name to the animal rescue organization of their choice.
