Russell D. Hiles

Russell Hiles at the age of 85 walked into the embrace of his Savior's arms. He was born on February 20, 1937 and passed away on June 10, 2022. Russell proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired after 30 dedicated years as a Mail Carrier for the U.S. Postal Services. He was a man of faith and was a member of Springfield Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
He was preceded in death by his father Harvey Hiles; mother Edith Hiles Bachmann; and step-father Louis Bachmann.
Russell is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sharon (Beorn) Hiles; daughter Michelle Perry; brother Kenneth (Jean) Bachmann; sisters Doris (Ken) Bond and Jan (Ron) Timen; and many other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank Briar Hill in Middlefield for all their loving care.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) and visitation on Monday from 10:00am to 11:00am at Springfield Baptist Church (1920 Krumroy Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 11:00am with Pastor Jeremy Candelaria officiating.
Interment will be held at Hillside Memorial Park.
