Russell E. Holmes, Sr.

Russell E. Holmes, Sr., "Rusty", age 60, of Mogadore, Ohio, died on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 1:10 AM at Akron City Hospital.
He was born in Akron on December 11, 1957, the son of the late Richard Clyde and Carol (nee Towsley) Holmes.
Rusty was a 1976 Springfield High School graduate. He was a meat cutter at Pressler's Meats in Springfield for 44 years. He was a lifetime fan of the Beatles and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. Rusty's greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially sausage making day; his grandchildren were his joy.
Survivors include his children, Russell E. "Rusty" Holmes, Jr., Nicole (Damon) Miller, Sr., Brandon (Caitlin) Holmes, and Heather Holmes; his four grandchildren, Alexis and Alayna Holmes and Jaedyn and Damon Miller, Jr., and one on the way. His siblings also survive, David Holmes, Thomas Holmes, Terri (Joseph) Sano, and John (Angie) Holmes. The mothers of his children and, his friends, also survive, Darcie (Robert) Gaglione and Margaret Klein.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where Pastor Dan Roland will celebrate Rusty's life.
Family and friends are welcome to visit at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 - 6:00 PM.
