Russell J. Jackson

Russell J. Jackson, 73, of Akron, passed away on May 3, 2024. He was born on October 12, 1950 the son of the late William and Beulah Jackson. Russell proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for Kent Lincoln Mercury for many years and retired from the City of Akron Market St. Garage. He was an avid Cleveland Guardians, Browns, Cavaliers and Ohio State Football fan. Russell was kind hearted, could meet friends everywhere he went, and had a great sense of humor. He always looked forward and loved going to Nags Head with his family. Russell had many achievements but his greatest was his love for his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Sandy Yonnaly; and beloved Uncle Frank Jackson.

Russell is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Peggy Jackson; children Kurt Jackson, Ang (Dennis) Kooles, Will Spitzer, and Derek Spitzer; grandchildren Alaenah, Jocelyn, Logan, Gannon, Kaydence, and Lilliana; several great-grandchildren; nephew, Keith (Jen) Yonnaly and family; and many friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 8th, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron).
