Russie Jackson

Russie Jackson, 100, passed away on June 7, 2024. She was born on August 16, 1923 the daughter of Thomas and Sena Hamrick of Lick Run, WV. Russie was one of twelve siblings growing up in Webster Springs, WV. She moved to Akron at 21 years old to work at B.F. Goodrich where she retired after 43 years of dedicated service. Russie was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Akron Aerie #555. Russie loved to dance and enjoyed listening to country music. She will always be remembered for her humor, intelligence, inner strength, and above all the love she had for her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clyde L. Jackson; and 11 siblings.

Russie is survived by her loving daughter Jo Ann (Patrick Roth) Jackson; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 12th from 10:30am to 12:30pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 12:30pm.

Interment will take place at Hillside Memorial Park.
