Ruth Alene Radak
Ruth Alene Radak (nee Powell). On March 12, 2010, Ruth came to the finish line of life. She lived life to the fullest and knew how to enjoy every minute. Her dry wit will be sorely missed by all. Her passion for over 30 years was thoroughbred racing. She owned and raced horses for 12 years with her late husband Milton, her daughter Linda and racing partner, Bruce Eldridge. She always said those were the best years of her life. Over the past 3 years, she acquired a second family…the staff at The Arbors at Fairlawn. Ruth's family will never be able to thank them enough for showing her such sincere loving kindness. We love you mom and will think of you every day. She was employed and retired from AGMC with 18 years of service. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 33 years, Milton. Ruth is survived by daughters, Linda (Joe) Prehodick of Uniontown, and Laura Spencer of Tucson; grandson, Lee; sister, Willa Ruther; niece, Mickie; and nephew, David. A memorial gathering will be held Sunday, March 14, from 2 to 4 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron.
