Ruth Brooks

Ruth E. Brooks
Ruth E. Brooks, 86, formerly of Akron, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday afternoon, February 6, 2008. Ruth's entire life revolved around her husband and children. Over the years she was involved in scouting and Eastern Star, and was the manager of the Hot Stove baseball team the "Buckeyes". Ruth was an accomplished seamstress, keeping the children well and uniquely clothed. She particularly doted over the young grandchildren, always providing a summer fun camp at Grandma's house. She bestowed her love of nature, poetry, and her faith in God to all of those around her. Ruth loved the simple things in life the most. Ruth was born September 7, 1921 to Abraham L. Bradbury and Viola Eckles Bradbury Sansom. She was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur L. Bradbury. Ruth was married to Harold E. Brooks for 60 years until he passed away in October 2000. Their family was the joy of their life. Through the will of God, they were blessed with eight children, Deanna E. (Hugh) Lybarger, Glenn E. Brooks, Sandra E. (Tom) Koloniar, Rebecca E. Brooks (Frank J. Tate Sr.), Harold E. Brooks, Roger E. (Billie) Brooks, Cindra E. (Paul) Mielke, and Beverly E. (Mark) Belgya; over twenty grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and nieces. "A special thanks to Janet and the Staff of the Barberton Hospice, as well as Fairlawn Hospice, for their loving care." Now our two Oaks are forever entwined. Cremation will take place prior to her memorial service. The family will gather privately for a celebration of Ruth's life.
