Ruth C. Adey, 76, of Springfield Township, passed away October 18, 2007 at Akron City Hospital. She was born April 2, 1931 in Akron, Ohio to the late Rayder & Gladys Crawford. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was always the caregiver and enjoyed being at home with her family more than anything. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Terrance L. Adey in 1998 and sister, Betty Adey. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Donald B. Adey; daughter and son-in-law, Christine (Kreg) Ultican; grandchildren, Dustin, Derek, Danielle, Drew, Nathan and Carl; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Gannon; and brother Donald (Martha) Crawford. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 - 5 p.m. and Monday from 10 - 11 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday with Rev. Ernie Kemppel officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation.
