Ruth Catherine (Klein) Woolf
Ruth Catherine (Klein) Woolf entered into eternal life on July 25, 2009 following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 23, 1934, daughter of Robert and Agnes (Weigand) Klein and grew up in Suffield area. She attended St. Joseph School in Randolph and graduated from Suffield High School. She was a past member of St. Joseph Church, St. Peter of the Fields, where she was active in Altar Rosary Society, and Immaculate Conception Church. She worked for many years at General Tire and retired from KSU after 30 years of service. Ruth was a member of Friends of the Library at Reed Memorial Library in Ravenna. She was the consummate sports fan. For her children and grandchildren, she spent her summers at the ballfields and winters in the bleachers at basketball games. She was devoted to their interests from band concerts and school plays to art shows and awards banquets. Ruth also spent time with her Charades ladies and countless hours playing cards and Scrabble with her family and friends. Ruth has joined her parents in the heavenly kingdom, along with her brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Martha (Schaefer) Klein. She will be forever in the hearts of her children, Robert (Stacey Miley) Woolf, Teresa (Joe) Lakos, Elaine (Terry) VanHoose and Sandra Woolf and grandchildren Elliot, Alex and Emilee Woolf, Sydney and Drew Lakos, and Trevor, Mark and Benjamin VanHoose. Ruth will be sadly missed by her sisters Louise (Joseph) Pasternak, Rose (David) Horning and Edith (Harold) Lowden. They have a special bond that only sisters could experience. She also leaves behind a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 29 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna, with Fr. David Misbrener as celebrant. The family will receive friends one hour prior to mass. Interment at Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ruth C. Woolf Memorial Educational Materials Fund, c/o Reed Memorial Library, 167 E. Main St. Ravenna, OH 44266. Ruth wished to thank all of the caring people that offered cards, gifts and prayers this past year. Your love, support and kindness will be remembered always by her family. Our family expresses much gratitude to the nurses and staff at Hospice of VNS in Copley for their special care and compassion in her final days.
