Ruth E. Blankenship (Gibson)



Ruth E. Blankenship (Gibson), 69, passed away on July 30, 2007. She was born in Barberton on October 24, 1937 to the late Henry and Florence Gibson. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who loved and cherished her family. She is survived by her husband Donald of 53 years; daughters Karin (Jeff) Elia and Becky Palermo (fiancee John Bloom); son Ken (Carol) Blankenship; grandchildren Eddie (Paula), Stacy (Nick), Donnie (Katie), Sarah (James), Daniel, and Kenny; 7 great-grandchildren; sister Blanche Shunko; sister-in-law Emma Blankenship; lifelong friend Pat Underwood; many other relatives and friends; and dog Mindy. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the staff at Robinson Memorial Hospital and everyone who extended their care and support during Ruth's illness.
