Ruth Ellen Reitz

Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Ruth Ellen Reitz, age 74, passed away on July 17, 2016 after a short battle with cancer. She was loved by everyone who knew her and she deeply cared for and loved her entire family.
Ruth was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Tasker Shanefelt, her father, Harold Thomann, her son, Jeffrey Reitz, and one grandson, Justin Reitz. She leaves behind her husband of 41 years, Frank; her children, David (Bridget) McLaughlin, Marianne McLaughlin, and Pamela (Greg) Cottrell; grandchildren, Amanda, Sagan, Kelly (Josh), Gary, Erin, Selena, Marissa, and Nate; three great-grandchildren, Dylan, Ethan, and Bentley; her sisters, Merry Parker, and Anna Killian; and her husband's brothers and sisters, Steve Reitz, Michael (Karen) Reitz, William (Fran) Reitz, Kathy (Armond) Boyes, and Marie (David) Newlove; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
A very short funeral service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron at 6 PM, Wednesday, July 20, 2016. Family and friends are welcome to visit at the funeral home beginning at 4:00 PM until the time of the service.
Cremation will follow after the services.
