Ruth A. Hazelett, 79, of Akron, went to be with the Lord on October 23, 2008. Ruth was born August 7, 1929 in Akron to the late Edward and Sarah Brennan. She was a member of Arlington Memorial Baptist Church where she volunteered in the Food Cupboard. Ruth retired from the A&P after many years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Claudia (Paul) Goodwin; son, Ed (Cindy) Hazelett; grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy, Kelly, John, and Kristin; ten great-grandchildren; and special niece, Sue (Roger) Dukeman. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m., Pastor Don Davies officiating. Interment at Grandview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of VNS, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333.
