Ruth Hosey
Ruth Hosey, 80, of Akron, passed away May 20, 2008. Ruth was born November 27, 1927 in Centralia, West Virginia. She worked as a waitress at various restaurants for most of her life. She loved flowers and spent many hours tending to her garden. She also enjoyed bingo and was known as the "Angel Lady" at the bingo hall because of the beautiful handmade angels that she sold there. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hosey; longtime companion, Ray Watkins; six brothers; and four sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Marsha (Steve) Lafferty of Akron, Betty Jean (Mike) Morrison of Akron, and Dawna Marie (Gary) Morrison of Canton; son, Scott Ray Hosey of Mansfield; sister, Helen Barnett of Valley Lane, WV; grandchildren, Jennifer (Darrin), Carla (Tim), Cory, and Kimmy (Dan); and great-grandchildren, Timmy, Todd, Chris, Nicholas, Nathan, Payton, and Isabel. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Poplar Ridge Cemetery in Sutton, WV.
