Ruth Audrey Mackey

Ruth Audrey Mackey, nee LaVere, 85, flew away to be with Jesus on May 21, 2017. She was born in Port Huron, MI on January 31, 1932. Ruth attended Springfield Assembly of God. She loved her children and grandchildren, and never had a bad word about anybody. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Julia LaVere; 4 siblings; great-grandson, and father of her children, Roy Mackey.
She is survived by her children, Donald (Becky) Mackey of Tallmadge, Sharon (Ken) Tompkins of Akron, and Diane (Corey Bogane) Mackey of El Cajon, CA; she was blessed with 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandson; many nieces, nephews and friends. Celebration of Ruth's life will be held on Friday May 26, 2017 at 12 noon at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. Special thanks to the staff at Summit Villa for their loving care.
