Ruth was a vibrant wonderful wife and mother that was loved and will always be cherished. She was a person that was always trying to help others. She was devoted to her husband, Bobby Thomas, a union of over 61 years.
Her story started on March 19, 1941 in Tallasee, Alabama, the forth child of John and Zell (nee Townsend) Leonard Sr. She eventually migrated to Akron, Ohio, with her family at around 10 years old. As Ruth continued in life she eventually met a southern man herself that we all know as Bobby Thomas. They were married on October 14,1961 in Akron, Ohio.
She symbolized her life to Jehovah by water baptism in 1958 in New York. She loved Jehovah so much and always looked forward to the resurrection in God's new world.
She attended the Akron Central Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses and was a regular pioneer.
One other thing about Ruth was that she was a huge basketball fan. Not to mention her favorite old black and white cowboy westerns.
She leaves behind to mourn her is her husband, Bobby Thomas; her daughters, Linda (Elmore) Foster, Susan Thomas; her grandchildren, Sheena Foster, Jennifer Foster, Terry Foster Jr. and Derrick Foster; and her great grandsons, Caden Smith, Dealyn Foster, Remal Foster and Jayden Foster. Caden's favorite name for her was "Don-Don".
Her siblings, John(Katie) Leonard, Mary(Lee) Goodlett, Mable (Oscar) Underwood, David (Jane) Leonard and Bette (Chester) Williams; and a host of nieces and nephews that also survive. Also a special nephew that literally called her everyday, Ron Underwood.
Mom you will be missed. You were my best friend.
Will always love you forever. See you in a little bit.
