In Loving Memory of Sadie Virginia Taylor

Sadie was born December 21, 1935 in Charleston, West Virginia to Charles Walter and Lorena Margaret Holcomb. She moved to Akron, Ohio, and married James Edward Taylor on November 3, 1953. She had a great love for children, raising 5 and looking after many others. Sadie was a long-time member of Victory Chapel in Akron, where she started a prayer blanket ministry. She gave freely to anyone in need, enjoying giving cards, blankets, and treat baskets to the veterans.

Sadie was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Lorena Holcomb; brothers, Charles L., Lloyd M., and sister Barbara M.; her husband of 66 years James Edward Taylor; son James Edward Taylor II; and great-grandson Donald D. Boyd.

Sadie is survived by her children, Virginia Gail (Jack) Halchak, Patricia Lynn (William) Baird, Julie Ann Meier, and Matthew Joseph (Hollie) Taylor; grandchildren, Melissa L. (Robert), Lorena L. (Greg), Travis, Melissa J. (Tim), Jason, Jonathan (Rachelle), Rachel, Erica (Millie), Andrea, Miranda (Patrick), and Sabrina; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Madison (Johnny), Ava, Imane, Landyn, Landan, Lanna, Aiden, Carson, Noah, Mia, Kellan, Aiden D., Ryder, Kohen, Piper, Aurora, Saylah, Tori Shanya (Denzel), Cassidy, Raelynn, Jayla, David, Cerenitii, and Hailey; great-great-grandchildren, Mya, Wren, Nova, Noel, Naveen, Jonathan, and Jaylin. She will also be missed by her nieces, nephews, and her best friend Joyce.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Victory Chapel, 32 West Bellisle Dr, Akron, Ohio 44319 to continue the prayer blanket ministry.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm followed by a 12:30 pm funeral service at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44305. Officiating will be Pastor Bruce Wells of the Greensburg Church of God.

Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
