Samuel M. Pritchard

Samuel M. Pritchard, 85, passed away January 21, 2020 at home. Born in Akron to Samuel and Viola (Erb) Pritchard, he was a lifelong area resident. Sam retired from both Firestone and Goodyear Tire (later Loral) & Rubber Companies. Sam was known for having a strong work ethic and helping those around him. He greatly enjoyed being outdoors, working in his manicured yard, pampering his pets, joking with everyone who knew him and playing cards and other games with family.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by sister, Tanya Donahue. He will be sadly missed his wife of 66 years, Brenda; children, Sam (Sheri), Tom, Jeff; grandchildren, Samantha, Sam, Jennifer (Chris), Tommy; great grandchildren, Ethan, Kara, Riley, McKenna; siblings, Norm (Pat), Denise, Cheryl (Hal); nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, January 28, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Sam's name to the Humane Society of Summit County.
