Sandra L. Barnett

Sandra L. Barnett, 83, of Akron, passed away Friday March 8, 2024. Sandy cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sandy enjoyed performing tap and ballet dance as a young girl, as a young adult she drag raced cars. She enjoyed watching Cavs games, visiting wineries, and taking casino trips. She also loved animals and had many pets.

Sandy was preceded in death by her loving husband Gilbert Barnett; her parents, Kenneth and Garnet Taylor; and sisters, Helen Hunter and Virginia Zumpano. Sandy is survived by daughters, Kim (Chris) Tunstall, Sandra "Missy" Evans, Shari Whittington; son, David "Barney" Barnett; ten grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd. Akron) on Thursday March 14th from 5 - 8 p.m. and Friday March 15th one hour prior to services (12:30-1:30 p.m.). Sandy's Celebration of Life will be Friday March 15th at 1:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Humane Society of Summit County, Hospice of Summa, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
