"Together Again"

Sandra Mae Brown, 68, of Doylestown, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on January 22, 2025. The world lost a woman with a heart of gold and a great sense of humor. Even in her last days, she was cracking jokes and making her family laugh.

Sandy was born on August 14, 1956 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to the late Glenn and Charlotte Roberts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John "JB" Brown; and grandson, Terrance Gurnik.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Stephen Gurnik, Ryan (Ashley) Gurnik, Deana Evans, Tracee Gurnik, John (Kathy) Brown, Debra McDonnell, and David Brown; sisters, Charlene Dolin, Kathy (Mark) Rich, and Donna (Dave) Roberts; grandchildren, Makayla, Angelo, Michael, Sarah, Matthew (Olivera), and Jessica; and great-grandchildren, Myah, Skyler, Layla, Sofija, and Maksim. Sandy also leaves many nieces, nephews, and special cousins who were like siblings to her.

Sandy had a larger than life, ornery personality. In her free time, she loved to play cards, casino trips, and spending time with her family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 12-2 p.m. followed by a 2:00 p.m. funeral service with Rev. Jim Roma officiating at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44305.

Sandy will be privately laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
