Sandra K. Hoard

Sandra K. "Sandy" Hoard, 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and joining her husband, Forest "Bud", on Saturday, February 29, 2020. Sandra fought a courageous and long 13 year battle with cancer. She was born to parents, Earl "Osbourne" and Irene McCracken on September 19, 1942.

Preceding her in death is her husband, Forest "Bud" Hoard; daughter, Mary Ann Windle; and her brother Edward McCracken.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Edward Hillier, Timothy Hillier, and daughter, Christina (Greg) Stanton; step-daughter, Karen (Ken) Howell; special friend and companion, Floyd Stormer; sister, Mary Moneypenny; brothers Stephen (Linda) McCracken and Earl (Natalie) McCracken; 9 grandchildren; Mike Windle, Melissa (Jason) Hayes, Matthew (Heidi) Windle, Jeremy Hillier, Kayla (Zorn) Stojadinovic, Cory Hillier, Andrew Hillier, Elizabeth Howell, Michelle Howell; and many great grandchildren.

Sandra enjoyed spending time walking the Metro Parks, but her true passion was quilting, sewing and crocheting, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Sandra enjoyed her winter home in Naples, Florida where she would spend time with her friends. She loved soaking up the sun and reading a good book on the boat.

A celebration of life service will be held at Wedgewood United Methodist Church, 2350 Wedgewood Drive, Akron OH 44312 at 12pm on Friday, March 6, 2020. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's research Hospital, www.stjude.org in her name.
