Sandra L. Matich

Sandra Lynn Matich, 75, passed away unexpectedly on March 9, 2023. She was born in Akron, Ohio on December 4, 1947 to Frank and Eula Davis. Sandy graduated with the class of 1965 from Ellet High School in Akron, Ohio. She retired from the Akron Police Department after over 35 years of service, and remained active with various police organizations for many years. She was also a devoted member of Maranatha Bible Church.

Sandy enjoyed playing with her beloved cats, working in the backyard, planting flowers, and feeding her many backyard birds. She loved to go antiquing and perusing the close-out aisle at Marcs. She was generous in spirit and never missed an opportunity to show her appreciation to those she cared about. She enjoyed her social time, luncheons with her friends, card nights, and spending time with her family.

Sandy will be dearly missed by her daughter, Martina Brick; grandchildren, Abigail and Alexander Brick; brother, Ronald (Victoria) Davis; former sister-in-law, Judy Magyar-Davis; close friend and partner-in-crime, Bill Tipton; and beloved feline companions, Lily and Sassy. Sandy will also be missed by many cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her niece, Karen Eisenman.

Visitation will take place at Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, on Tuesday March 14, 2023 from 5pm until 7pm. A memorial service will take place at 7pm officiated by Rev. Warren Lowrey.
