Sarah J. Herman, 71, of Akron, passed away Monday, November 26th after a long illness. She was born July 29, 1930 in Lewistown, PA. to the late Henry and Elizabeth Markley and was a resident of Akron for 42 years. Mrs. Herman was a charter member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, OES Ellestar Chapter 565, very active in WELCA and was treasurer for many years. She also volunteered for Summit County Board of Elections at Hatton Elementary School. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Alton; daughters Gloria (Donald) Rininger, Glenda (Greg) Thompson, and Hazel Mary (Kim) Hoy of Beaver Springs, PA.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sister Janice (Ray) Wagle of Beavertown, PA.; brothers Russell (Mary) Markley and Gerald Markley of Selinsgrove, PA. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 30th at Saint Mark Lutheran Church, 158 North Avenue Tallmadge with Rev. William H. Michaels officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. Family and friends will be recieved at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N.
