Scott L. Smith

Scott L. Smith, 76, passed away on January 29, 2023. He was born on October 23, 1946, the son of the late Harley and Irma Smith. He was a man of faith and attended The Akron Chapel. Scott proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines during The Vietnam War. He had many achievements but was very proud to have served on the Akron Fire Department as well as the Eagle Scout Award he received as a Boy Scout. Scott enjoyed the outdoors: hiking, caving, rock climbing, four wheeling and beach vacations with his family and friends. Scott loved movies and enjoyed watching them especially with his family and friends.
Scott will always be remembered for his giving heart, loving spirit, bright smile and sense of adventure. He lived by his motto that he "Loves his God, Loves his Country, and Loves his Family."

Scott was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters Robin and Phoebe.
Scott is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sandy Smith; children, Michael (Angela) Smith, Kimberly (Ken) Mount, and Shannon (Tirtak) Mada; granddaughters Sarah, and Mallory; brother Kim (Karen) Smith; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home where a Memorial Service will be held at 5:00pm with Kim Smith officiating.
