Shane Patrick Legg "The One and Only", 41, of Firestone Park, passed away on August 21, 2017. After eleven months of sobriety, Shane lost his long, courageous battle with addiction.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Dawn Marie Legg; brother, Joshua Legg; grandmothers, Geraldine Thomas and Betty Legg; grandfather, Merle Bollinger. Shane was a standout quarterback for the Garfield Golden Rams from 1990-1994 and was a valuable member to the recovery community here in Akron.
Shane will be dearly missed by so many people. He was a loving father to Austin, Maxx, Serenity, and Mason. He also leaves his parents, Don (Cindee) Legg I and Kathryn (Raymond) Mull; siblings, Kathleen Cole, Deon (Vince) Bishop, Don (Christina) Legg II, Deven (Angela) Legg, Deserae Legg, Raymond Mull, Keri Mull, and Nicole (Josh) Moyer; grandparents, Ed Legg, Boyd Thomas, Betty Lamont, and Fran Mull. He also leaves behind Amanda Kellar, the mother of his children and his "rock" for the past fourteen years. Shane will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held on Friday, September 1 at 12 noon.
