Shannon "Scooby Doo" Edwards

Shannon "Scooby Doo" Edwards, 28, went home to our Lord, on September 15, 2007. She was born on August 15, 1979 to Kelly Edwards. She gave a courage battle against all odds with renal failure and other problems. Shannon loved doing cross word puzzles and playing video machines. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Tallmadge, Mogadore VFW # 8487 Womens Auxillary and the Mogadore Moose # 852. Before she got to sick she loved to sing and be of help to others. Shannon had a smile that would light up a room. Proceeded in death by her loving father Dan R. Edwards. She is survived by her mother Kelly Edwards; beloved sister and best friend Stephanie (Jason) Dawkins; grandparents Vinnie Crispin, Pastor Richard (Mrytle) Postlethwaite of Texas, Doyle Decker and Donald Edwards; nephews Shawn and Daniel; biological father Gerald (Joann) Decker; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. We would like to express all our love and thanks to the Summit Renal Unit for all the care and love they gave Shannon every day and the Akron General CCU-ICU departments for all the effort and love they gave her. Funeral services will be held at NOON on Wednesday September 19 at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N Canton Rd with Pastor Richard Postlethwaite officiating. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4 -8 PM and also for 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday. The Mogadore VFW Womens Auxillary will hold a service at 7 PM on Tuesday. Interment will be at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Summit County Renal Department, 182 Massillon Rd, Akron OH 44312.
