Shannon Parke (Murphy) Zamecnik, 48, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2021. Born in Akron, Ohio on May 29, 1972 to Russ and Linda Murphy, she was a resident of Akron, Green and Boston Heights, Ohio.
Shannon attended Betty Jane Elementary, Hyre Jr. High and graduated from Ellet High School in 1990. After graduation, she attended Akron University while working at Acme. She worked as a nanny and finally found her niche working in automotive sales as a finance manager. She worked for several well-known auto groups where she met many friends, many of whom remain her friends to this day. Shannon could walk into a room full of strangers, come out after an hour, having made friends with everyone there, many times knowing their names, addresses and phone numbers. She was a true friend to so many.
Shannon finally met the "love of her life", Mike Zamecnik and together they raised their children in a happy, fun loving home with Charlie (a pit/lab mix with social issues), Cooper (an overgrown golden who will either knock you over or lick you to death) and Molly the cat. She loved her family with every ounce of her being.
Shannon was preceded in death by grandparents (Russell and Helen Murphy); Nan and Pop (Mary & Nelson Simmons); father, Russ Murphy; father-in-law, Don Zamecnik and dear friend, Amy Duff.
Shannon is survived by the "love of her life" Michael Zamecnik; children, Aidan and Avery Roach; step-son, Frank Zamecnik; mother, Linda Murphy; brother and sister-in-law, Russ and Michelle Murphy; mother-in-law, Cherie Bisbee Zamecnik; sister-in-law, Tammy (John) Kloss; brother-in-law, Jason (Kim) Zamecnik; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends. All of whom she loved with her heart and soul. To know Shannon was to have a friend for life. And if you were an enemy, well let's just say "Nellie bar the door". Eventually, she forgave you. She was a force to be reckoned with! She lost her battle with cancer, but she won the war. She is free from the prison of cancer and walks with her Lord, Jesus and father, Russ. She is our shining star and will be sorely missed.
The family would like to thank the staff of Cleveland Clinic who treated her with kindness, professionalism and dignity and Hospice who again gave her love, kindness and dignity. Also, many thanks to the staff of Newcomer Funeral Home.
