Shanon Riley Hyde, 52, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on July 26, 2023. He was born on August 5, 1970, in Guanaja, Bay Islands of Honduras. Shanon was an amazing soul, always wearing a smile that could brighten any room. His laughter was contagious, and he brought joy to the lives of those around him.
Shanon was the rock of his family, serving as their strength, hero, and protector. He worked tirelessly, always going above and beyond to provide for his loved ones. His love story with his wife, Jennifer, was straight out of a fairy tale, but now, many dreams are left unfulfilled. Shanon's passing has left a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife Jennifer, Shanon is survived by his children, Chayanne (Mike), Jonah, Christian, Jordan, Riley, Christian Lucas, grandson, Carter along with his mother, Josephine James, and stepmother, Mercedes. He was adored by his many brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, and in-laws. Shanon was preceded in death by his daughter, Josie Hyde and his father, Windell Hyde.
Shanon had a thirst for knowledge and pursued education with zeal. He graduated from North Miami Sr. High School and went on to earn Associates, Bachelors, and Masters degrees.
During his life, Shanon proudly served in the United States Army for 12 years. His military associations shaped him into the disciplined and dedicated person he was.
Professionally, Shanon worked as an IT Director, utilizing his skills and expertise to contribute to the success of his organization.
Shanon found solace and community at First EC Church in Akron, where he worshipped.
Outside of work, Shanon enjoyed spending time with his family, tinkering with computers, and taking care of his lawn. These were his cherished hobbies that brought him joy and relaxation.
Memorial services to honor Shanon's life will be held at First EC Church in Akron on Thursday, August 3 at 1:00 p. m. The address is 369 E. Woodsdale Ave., Akron, Ohio 44301. Friends, family, and all who knew Shanon are invited to pay their respects and celebrate his life.
