Sharon Lynn Cato

Sharon Lynn Cato, age 55 of Akron, Ohio, died suddenly on June 28, 2023 at Akron General Hospital.

She was born on May 23, 1968 in Akron, the daughter of the late George C. and Cathleen A. (nee Albright) Wright Sr.

Sharon was a 1986 graduate of East High School. She was a manager for Famous Footwear at the Stow location for many years. Sharon was a warm, sweet, loving person that always had a big beautiful smile for everyone she met. She was always quick with a joke and her outgoing personality made her many friends. She loved to watch fashion shows, cooking shows and of course her soap operas. Most of all she loved doting on her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, that she treated like her own children.

Survivors include her loving husband, Perry Cato, whom she married on October 16, 2000; her step-son, Antoine (Kristina) Cato; her grandchildren, Josiah and Elijah.

Sharon's siblings survive, Cheryl (David) LeBarre, Shelly (Jeff) Hane and George Wright Jr.; her nieces and nephews, Millissa (John) Potter, Josh Dixon, Adam LeBarre, Emmily (Kaleb) Bailey, Jeffery (Maddy) Hane, Stacey, Lynette, Michael and Penny; her great-nieces and her great-nephews, Logan, Samuel, Liam, Annalise, Jakki, Eli, Aiden, Evelyn, Luna, Karolyn, Michael, Jasmine and Mark.

Her husband's brothers survive, David Cato and Jeffery Cato.

Other than her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Beulah Pearl; her brother-in-law, Jimmy Cato; and her nephew, Roderick Stephens.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305, where Pastor Cindy Peel will celebrate Sharon's life.

Family and friends may visit from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the funeral home on Saturday.
