Sharon G. "Gail" Hurd, age 75 of Akron, Ohio, died on February 1, 2023 at Hospice Care Center in Copley.
She was born on October 9, 1947 in Akron, the daughter of the late Carl F. and Annie Juanita (nee McGuire) Syx.
Gail graduated from Coventry High School and went on to become a homemaker, wife and a dedicated mother. Gail was a very handy person, she loved to remodel, and was a great cook and housekeeper.
Survivors include her loving husband, Albert Hurd, whom she married on February 18, 1967; her siblings, Beverly Chapman, Carl Syx Jr and Joyce (Charles "Chuck") Hall, and several nieces and nephews and their families, cousins and friends mourn her loss; and a special great-nephew, Billy "Bunky".
Other than her parents, Gail was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret.
There will not be any calling hours or services and Mrs. Hurd will be cremated and her cremated remains will be placed in the Keys.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio.
