Sharon Sue Wicks, age 73, of Akron, passed away on June 20, 2024. She was born on November 10, 1950, in Akron, to the late Raymond E. Conner Jr. and Emily L. (Betleyoun) Conner and graduated from Springfield High School in 1968. Sharon had a wild sense of humor and a love for adventures and making memories along the way. With her passion of travel, Sharon was fortunate enough to visit many beautiful states across the country where she was able to visit amazing attractions, both natural and historical. It was with this spirit of adventure that built Sharon an impressive souvenir collection from her travels to many of the United States highlights.
Sharon had an infectious laugh and a smile that could lift your spirits in a moment. Although fierce, she always had a level head and big heart. She was loving, kind, generous, and a doting second mother to her niece and nephew; and partner in crime and protector of her younger sister. Sharon enjoyed her girl time; she loved getting dressed up, going on shopping trips and loved checking out the best dish on the menu at the newest restaurant in town. On days that she felt like relaxing at home, Sharon enjoyed doodling and coloring with her great niece in one of their favorite coloring books or watching the latest Disney movie with her great nephew (Alan and Sydney Haynes II). Sharon loved spending time and creating memories with her family and friends.
Wherever she went, she left a lasting and positive impression. Her sass, wit, and tenacity were inspiring. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A void that can never be filled but peace of mind that Sharon has went home to the Lord and resting in paradise.
Sharon is survived by her son Joshua P. Wicks; best friend and sister Shelby Haynes; niece Allison (Matthew) Varhola; nephew Alan (Sydney) Haynes II; granddaughters Emery and Turner (Joshua Wicks), great-niece Lillian Haynes and great-nephew Isaac Haynes (Alan and Sydney Haynes II).
