On July 15, 2021, Shawn B. Bagley, 50, of Akron, passed away unexpectedly. My best friend went to sleep and woke up in the arms of his mom, Betty, and his dad, Robert. In God's Divine Kingdom, I know there were many there to greet him; those he long awaited to see.
To know Shawn was to love him. He touched so many lives and he never met a stranger. He was a beloved father to Lea. She made him so proud; a beloved Poppy to Peach, Dane, Dylan, Karleena and Alycia "Big Mamma", whom they adored; and lifetime best friend to Bernard Eaton.
Shawn was born to Betty and Robert Bagley on August 29, 1970. He graduated from Buchtel High School in 1990. He took the team to the State Championships in 1987 and 1988. He loved the game of football and his Dallas Cowboys!
Shawn was a kind, smart, funny and no nonsense man. He loved being with his daughter and grandchildren. They are heartbroken and he will be horribly missed.
Left to mourn are his daughter Lea Bagley (Rodney); long-time girlfriend, Pam Varvorines; other family, Kim, Sheila, Laurie (Joe), Shay (Steve); best friend, Bernard Eaton (Tracy); his work family at Rockne's (he loved you); and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends; there are too many to name. You were all very special to him.
We have all lost a very special guy. I know you're happy in Heaven. Barn, "Big Perm" misses you terribly. We will see you again someday. God be with you and be free. Watch over us all. We love you. Condolences may be sent to the funeral home.
A memorial gathering for Shawn will be held on Thursday, July 22, from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. www.newcomerakron.com
