Shawna R. Seifert

Shawna R. Seifert, 52, of Mogadore, went home to be with the Lord on December 29, 2017.
She was born in Salem, OH on January 18, 1965. She enjoyed travel including to her favorite place, Kauai; she loved camping, boating and anything to do with antiques including quilts. Her favorite pastime was playing in the backyard with her many cherished rescue dogs. In school she was a member of cheerleading and color guard. Shawna had a passion for animal rights and supported dog rescue organizations. She was instrumental in working with Nitro's Foundation to get animal cruelty laws changed in Ohio.
Shawna was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Seddon. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Gregg Seifert; father, John Seddon Jr. of Akron, OH; siblings, Susan (Fred) Aguilar of San Antonio, TX, John Seddon III of Salem, OH, and Jason (Staci) Seddon of Orlando, FL; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the family in c/o the funeral home in order to begin a foundation in her name for the ongoing protection of companion animals.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 1-2 followed by a 2:00 p.m. memorial service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron.
