Sheila Diane Stewart

Sheila D. Stewart, 70, of Canton, passed away on May 31, 2022. Sheila was born in Spencer, West Virginia on October 10, 1951 and moved to the Akron area as a young child. She retired from Meggitt after 32 1/2 years of service. Sheila was a longtime member at CWC in Greentown and a former Hartville Village Council Member. In her free time, Sheila loved to travel. After retirement, Sheila and her husband Kevin enjoyed road tripping all over the country to visit family and friends. Perhaps her favorite destination of all time was Panama City Beach.
Sheila was preceded in death by her father, Volley Carper; and mother and second father, Homer and Mary Harris.
Sheila will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Kevin Stewart, with whom she shared her life for the past sixteen years; daughters, Shannon (Charles) Woods and Brandi VanHorn; stepchildren, Timothy Stewart and Amanda (Chris) Keller; brother, David Cook; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sheila also leaves many friends including special friends, Kathy Kovein and Megan.
Per Sheila's wishes, there will be no formal services. She will be privately laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. A celebration of Sheila's life will be announced at a later date.
