Shelley E. Reiter, 59, of Akron, passed away on December 6, 2014 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born in Akron on September 2, 1955. Shelley was a member of the Mogadore Moose and loved traveling to casinos and spending time with family and friends. Shelley grew up showing horses and was a lifelong animal lover.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Helen and James Davis and Granny and Poppy Smith. She will be deeply missed by her boyfriend, Rodney Detamore; children, Cherish Longo and Matthew Longo; parents, Lee and Laurie East; brother, Lee East; sister, Kim Hocking; good friends, Barb Drowns and Carol Ann Bertolini; many other relatives and friends. She also leaves her beloved dogs, Sophie and Shurman.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 12 noon at Hillside Memorial Park, 1025 Canton Rd., Akron. Everyone please meet in the cemetery parking lot.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Hospice Foundation, 900 Cooper St., Jackson, MI 49201.
