Shelly Ann Holmes, age 69, of Akron, Ohio, died at her home on Sunday, August 16, 2020.
She was born on December 16, 1950 in Bergholz, Ohio, the daughter of the late Robert L. Burchfield and Avis (nee Day) Burchfield of Mogadore.
Shelly was a homemaker, however for 12 years she worked for the Lakemore Park Department as a laborer. She enjoyed being in the outdoors and loved to laugh and have fun.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her loving husband, John Holmes, whom she married on July 27, 1971; her son, Paul (Heather) Holmes of Covington, Georgia; her grandchildren, Katie and Halie Holmes; and one great-granddaughter. Also surviving are her siblings, Doug (Suzanna) Burchfield, Robbie Burchfield and Tracee (Fred) Archer.
Other than her father, Shelly was preceded in death by her brother, Brad Burchfield.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where Pastor Amy Downard will celebrate Shelly's life.
Family and friends may visit from 12:00 - 1:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park, Akron.
