Shirley E. (Robinson) Pinkel (Esler)
Shirley E. Pinkel passed away June 1, 2008. Her sparkling blue eyes first opened 82 years ago in Sample, PA. The family moved to the Springfield Lake area in Akron, OH where Shirley grew up with her eight brothers and three sisters. She married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Lee Robinson (deceased) and is survived by their four children: Rodney Robinson (Linda) of North Canton, Jana Robinson and Cindy Hollis (James) of Port Orange, FL and Philip Robinson of Punta Gorda, FL. For the past 34 years she had been married to George E. Pinkel and had three stepchildren. Also surviving are four brothers, Preston (Bub), William, Max, Stewart Esler and sister, Bernadette Cannon. She is survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family has asked that memorial gifts be given to the Alzheimer's Association. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:30-2:00 p.m. followed by a 2:00 p.m. service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Pastor Martin Voltz officiating. Private burial at Geneva Union Cemetery.
