Shirley Ellen Ryczek (Varndell)
Shirley Ryczek (Varndell), 77, of Akron, passed away July 6, 2012. She was born in Uniontown on January 31, 1935 to the late Eugene and Pearl Varndell.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry; brother, William Varndell.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Lawrence (Donna), Bradford (Bobi); daughters, Lori Simons, Marcie (Walter) Ebright; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
The flirtatious red-head was a graduate of Uniontown High School, PA She was swept away by Henry while roller skating and moved to Streetsboro, Ohio for 30 years. She raised 4 children that will be forever grateful to have had her as a mother. She always filled the home with love and laughter. Shirley had a particular fondness for Bingo, Romance Novels, and Wheel of Fortune Slots. Her concern for others lasted until the end- Feed the Feeesh! We will miss you, Mom.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, July 10, from 5-7 PM at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A graveside service will be held in Hopwood, PA.
